Junior Skater Award

Presented annually to a member of the JHFSC (in good standing) that has shown significant accomplishment in his/her skating skills, participated in club activities, and set a positive example for other skaters. Only skaters at the Free Skate 1 through Preliminary Free Skate Level are eligible to receive this award.

Young at Heart Award for Outstanding Achievement in Adult Figure Skating

Presented annually to an adult skating member of the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club that has strived to advance and challenge his/her skating by participation in lessons, clinics, practices, competitions, testing, and/or performances while also setting a positive example for other club skaters.  It was established in the Spring of 2003 by JHFSC adult skaters Kelli Mobeck and Lori Fussell to encourage other adult skaters who are working hard and discovering the joy of adult figure skating.  Lori and Kelli named the award in honor of a memorable performance at the 2003 US Adult Figure Skating Championships in which a very inspirational 75 year old skater by the name of Barbara Kelly performed to “Young at Heart” and brought the audience to tears.

Presented annually to a member of the JFHSC (in good standing) that has shown significant accomplishment in his/her skating skills, participated in club activities, and set a positive example for other skaters. Ashley Nowlin Award for Sportsmanship

Presented annually to a member of the JHFSC that has demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, character, attitude, work-ethic, and support of other skaters during the skating season.  In 2004, this award was named the Ashley Nowlin Award for Sportsmanship in memory of Ashley Nowlin.  Ashley was a member of the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club who loved figure skating and worked hard to skate despite her battle with cystic fibrosis.  In addition, Ashley was always willing to lend a hand to help the club - everything from working as an assistant coach for our skating school to painting "rat faces" on skaters performing in The Nutcracker on Ice.  The Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club honors Ashley's spirit by presenting this award to a deserving skater each year.

Lisa McGraw Webster Award for Outstanding Service to Figure Skating in Jackson Hole

Sherrie Fleuter Award

Presented annually to the outstanding competitor in the Jackson Hole Invitational. Sherrie Fleuter is an adult figure skater who was instrumental in the founding of the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club.  This award was established to honor her spirit and love of figure skating.  The winner of the Sherrie Fleuter Award will demonstrate excellence in both artistic and freestyle skating and will represent the spirit of figure skating at the Jackson Hole Invitational.

The Artistry Award

The judges will give this award to a skater Juvenile (Adult Gold) or higher who skates the most artistic Free Skate or Artistic program at the Jackson Hole Invitational. The trophy will remain in the JHFSC showcase, with the skater’s name engraved on it. The winning skater also receives a trophy from the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club.

Stacey Findorff Award

Presented annually to the outstanding competitor in the Jackson Hole Invitational who is at the Basic Skills through Non-Test level. Stacey Findorff is an adult figure skater and past president of the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club.  She was instrumental in the continuing success of the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club.  This award was established to honor her spirit and love of figure skating.  The winner of the Stacey Findorff Award will demonstrate excellence in both artistic and freestyle skating and will represent the spirit of figure skating at the Jackson Hole Invitational.

Stillwell Award

Presented annually to the most outstanding showcase competitor in the Jackson Hole Invitational, as determined by the judges in attendance at the Jackson Hole Invitational.  This award was established in honor of  Morry and Elda Stillwell, who are good friends and supporters of both the Jackson Hole Figure Skating Club and US Figure Skating, and share a unparalleled passion for showcase skating events.  The winner of the Stillwell Award will have skated the most highly entertaining and creative showcase program at the Jackson Hole Invitational.

VanNostrand Award

Presented annually to the outstanding out-of-town coach attending the Jackson Hole Invitational.  Selection for this award is based on the number of skaters and entries that each coach brings to the Jackson Hole Invitational.  The recipient of this award will receive four nights of free lodging in Jackson Hole to be used during the next Jackson Hole Invitational.  Jim VanNostrand was the first figure skating coach in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.  This award was established to honor Jim's enthusiasm for figure skating and his unfailing ability to inspire young skaters to get on the ice and have fun.
